On Magh Bihu sales of Purabi Dairy makes a new record

GUWAHATI: This Magh Bihu, Purabi Dairy saw a huge jump in sales as Assam celebrated the festival with a dash of Purabi milk, Purabi curd, Purabi cream and Purbi paneer.

Till Magh Bihu, Purabi Dairy’s milk sales grew by 17% compared to the same period last year. Underlining the significant growth in the milk economy, Purabi Dairy’s milk sales crossed 1 lakh liters per day during the two days leading up to Uruka, while milk and milk products combined topped Bihu’s sales for four consecutive days. crossed the figure of 1 lakh liters per day.
“Purabi products, with their superior quality and availability, are loved by consumers in Assam. On January 13, sales of milk and milk products touched an all-time high of 1.4 lakh liters in a single day,” said a Purabi Dairy spokesperson. .

During this Magh Bihu, the total curd portfolio increased by over 35% compared to last year’s Bihu volume, while Purabi Paneer sales increased by 30%. Purabi Fresh Cream also increased by 10%.

Interestingly, the sales of Purabi pouch yogurt have doubled this year, recording a 112% increase over the same period last year.
West Assam Milk Producers Cooperative Union Limited (WAMUL), popularly known as Purabi Dairy, has been at the forefront of enabling farmers in the state to become ‘Atmanirbhar’ through dairy as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Last month, Purabi Dairy increased the milk procurement rate by Rs 2 per kg, benefiting around 25,000 dairy farmers in Assam who are associated with Purabi Dairy. With a strong market presence, Purabi Dairy has been able to continuously support its strong network of dairy farmers in Assam through various initiatives.
