Assam: In a case of heated arguments, an Assam Industrial Security Force (AISF) jawan was arrested on Tuesday morning for allegedly shooting dead one of his colleagues.
The incident was reported from the AISF camp on Muliabari Road in Digboi town.
According to sources, the accused jawan, identified as Udesh Majhi, shot dead his colleague with his service rifle in the camp premises this morning.
The deceased youth has been identified as Bimal Orang.
Meanwhile, the local police arrested Udesh and a case was registered against him under the relevant provisions.
The police said that the reason for the tension will be known only after questioning the arrested youth.
Earlier last month, a youth in Assam’s Tinsukia district committed suicide by shooting himself using his service weapon.
The deceased youth has been identified as Ashok. He was employed at Doom Dooma ARC when he shot himself in his room around 3 am.
