Imphal: Unknown assailants carried out coordinated attacks on the houses of three former members of the Board of Directors of the Salai Holding Private Limited (BDSHPL) in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Sunday night.
A low-intensity bomb exploded at the residence of Deepa Anand Akoijam, 45, in Kwakeithel around 11 PM, said a police official.
While the blast caused damage to the residential gate, no injuries were reported, he added.
In separate incidents, two grenades were lobbed at the homes of Mayengbam Tolenjao Mayang, 45, and Yurembam Brojendro, 46, the official said.
The official said both grenades failed to detonate and were subsequently recovered by the Manipur police.
The attacks are believed to be motivated by financial disputes related to the BDSHPL, a non-government company that faced difficulties in returning investors’ money.
No insurgent group has claimed responsibility for the incidents so far.
Police have registered three separate cases and are investigating the matter further.
