Guwahati: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
The governor said in a statement that he conveys his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Muslim brothers of the state on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
‘May this festival bring peace and encourage us all to embrace each other with a sense of brotherhood. I appeal to all to rekindle the spirit of sacrifice for one another and work for the betterment of the country”, Kataria said.
He added that the festival should be celebrated in a genuine spirit of joy, in an atmosphere of peace and with an exchange of feelings of friendship, trust and goodwill.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that this festival will inspire people to move forward following the ideals of humanity.
He said that this festival reflects sacrifice, piety, love for humanity and brotherhood and hoped that these high ideals would strengthen the bond between all.
Sarma hoped that the spirit of peace, brotherhood and humanity would guide all.
