“Consequent to the heinous act of vandalism in NSF Oking and the failure of the concerned authorities to punish the perpetrators of this heinous crime despite the lapse of 5 days, the Naga Students Federation (NSF) directs all federation units to and the subsidiary bodies of the federation will raise the black flag in their respective occupancies,” the NSF said in a press statement.
The NSF said the directive was issued to democratically express its displeasure at the inaction of the authorities concerned, despite “the perpetrators publicly accepting responsibility for the crime”.
The NSF directed that banners explaining the reason for hoisting the flag should also be put up.
He said the exercise will continue until the authorities initiate criminal proceedings against the culprits.
A compliance report with photo and video recording is directed to reach NSF office before 5 pm on Friday.
