KOHIMA: Assembly elections 2023, in which political parties were advocating Naga polity as their priority, has come to an end and a new government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has been installed. But with no visible sign of any progress on the long-pending issue, the NSCN-IM claims the issue is in cold storage.
In its latest bi-monthly magazine “Nagalam Voice” which was made available on Sunday, the NSCN-IM said the Naga political issue has been given a “cold shoulder with sceptic indifference”.
However, the group said this does not discourage the Nagas who believe that “the ultimate answer to the Naga solution lies with Almighty God, the creator and source of everything that sustains the world.”
Suggesting a loss of faith in the Government of India (GoI), the NSCN-IM said the only way to win this battle was through “divine intervention”.
“The Nagas believe that God’s wonderful works are being done among the Nagas, His continuous and unfailing guidance in every age. We also believe in God’s irrevocable covenant with the Naga people that they will not leave the Nagas alone and in the hands of merciless and mindless enemies,” the group said.
