North East Students Organization

Guwahati: The North East Students Organization, Jalandhar (NESOJ) held its 7th general election at Phagwara to elect new executive members for the term 2022-2023.

According to a joint statement by the newly elected President Amsingar Jameer and Vice President Heman Debbarma, the meeting was chaired by Subhadeep Bhattacharya, member of the Nomination Committee, NESOJ Punjab and was held in the presence of ex-officers of the organization.
Rinlungso Zas, former president of NESOJ; Counselor Pastor Tiakum Ozokum and former National Student Union of Punjab (NSUP) President Pele George Yevini were also present. The election was conducted by the election committee of the organization.
The newly elected team led by Imsinger Jameer as President, Vice President Himan Debbarma, General Secretary Abhishek Pal, Assistant General Secretary Eddie Elling, Finance Secretary Bianca Fidelia Jirua, Assistant Finance Secretary Ziyang Zeman S Sangma, Culture Secretary Archita Dutta, Asst. Cultural Secretary included. Secretary Gaby Jebisu, Sports Secretary Tasso Telang, Assistant Sports Secretary David Vanlalakrana, Women’s Secretary V Lalanandiki, Media and Publicity In-Charge Kishtej Sharma, Literary Secretary Binukeshwar Wingham, Information and Database Officer Rozal Chhetri and Assistant Information and Database In-Charge Ferlatpam Legian. Newly elected President Emsinger Jameer vowed to give priority to all opinions. He emphasized on working for the welfare of the North Eastern region with the aim of preserving the cultural heritage of the North Eastern states.

He also discussed how issues of racial slurs and discrimination would be handled so that “people see the integrity, prosperity and excellence of the people of the North East”.
