North East football trophy Dehradun title won by Nagaland

KOHIMA: The Nagaland football team under the auspices of Naga Students Union Dehradun (NSUD) emerged champions of North East Football Tournament-2023 Dehradun after defeating Arunachal Pradesh 1-0 in the final match at Uttaranchal University, Dehradun.

The tournament was organized by North East Students Association, Dehradun at Uttaranchal University last May 1 to 9 in which all the eight states of North East participated.
Kyolamo B Kikon and I Kavi T Zhimo were awarded as the player of the tournament and top scorer respectively.

The Naga team performed brilliantly on the field despite facing tough competition from the rivals.
As the final whistle blew, the Naga team emerged victorious.

The Nagaland team improved their performance with each match.

Earlier, the Naga team thrashed a strong Assam side against Manipur 8-0 and 6-0 to secure their place in the semi-finals.

The Naga team qualified for the final with an easy 7-0 win against Sikkim in the semi-final.
