Guwahati: A sum of 56 episodes of stone pelting were accounted for under the North East Boondocks Rail line (NFR) in 2022, and a mindfulness crusade against such violations was sent off, an authority said.
He said that three episodes of stone pelting have been accounted for till January 17 this year, adding that three people have been captured in this association.
The Railroad Insurance Power (RPF) has sent off a mindfulness drive against such wrongdoings under ‘Activity Janjagaran’, the authority said.
“Tossing stones or comparative items on trains is a criminal offense under Segments 152, 153 and 154 endorsed in the Rail line Act. The NFR said in a delivery that the guilty party will be rebuffed with detainment for a term which might reach out to 10 years can increment.
“Activity Janjagaran” covers railroad tracks and stations, towns and close by areas of schools, among different spots, it said.
The RPF conducts shock checks at perilous places and makes a legitimate move against the offenders to control this scourge, the delivery said.
