As Violence grips State NFR cancels all Manipur-Bound Trains

Guwahati: NFR cancels 26 trains due to Agnipath protests, and NE floods. The North Eastern Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday canceled at least 26 trains due to violent protests against the Centre’s ‘Agni Path’ scheme and flood damage in several places in Assam.

The official added that several trains have also been canceled, resumed, diverted, or rescheduled in the short run.
In addition to those canceled on Monday, five more have been canceled for Tuesday, said Sabyasachi D, the NFR’s chief public relations officer.

He said that due to violent protests against ‘Agni Path’ in Bihar, most of the trains going north from Guwahati were canceled or their schedules were changed which caused damage to the property of the railways, including the railways. The boxes were set on fire.

D said that due to floods in the state, trains bound for East Assam were canceled or rescheduled.
