In order to further improve the rail connectivity between North Eastern states, North East Frontier Railway has decided to extend Guwahati – Lumding – Guwahati Express service to Shokhuvi in ​​Nagaland on one side and Mendipathar in Meghalaya on the other side.
New Train Service , The special liaison train will be flagged off by President Draupadi Murmu on October 14 at 11:20 am from Guwahati. This new service will connect the people of three northeastern states – Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland.
Mendipathar – Guwahati Passenger Special will depart from Mendipathar with a new train number (05607) every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30 PM and reach Guwahati at 4:40 PM on the same day. Train No. 05605 will depart from Guwahati at 5:00 PM and reach Shokhuvi at 11:55 AM on the same day.
Shokhuvi – Guwahati Passenger Special will depart from Shokhuvi every Wednesday and Friday at 5:30 am with a new train number (05606) arriving at Guwahati at 11:10 am on the same day. The same train will leave Guwahati every Wednesday and Monday at 12:45 PM with a new train number (05608) arriving at Mandipet at 4:50 PM on the same day.
Shukhovi – Guwahati Passenger Special (Train No. 05606) will depart from Shukhovi every Wednesday and Friday at 5:30 AM and reach Guwahati at 11:10 AM on the same day. Train No. 05608 will depart from Guwahati every Wednesday and Monday at 12:45 PM and reach Mandi Pathar at 4:50 PM on the same day.
Guwahati-Limding Passenger Special (Train No. 05601) departs Guwahati every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 5 PM and reaches Lumding at 9:40 PM on the same day.

Limding-Guwahati Passenger Special (Train No. 05602) will depart from Lumding every Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 7 AM and reach Guwahati at 11:10 AM on the same day.
