MUMBAI: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Thursday said it has “established a strong foothold” in Nagaland by winning seven of the 12 assembly seats.
“History was written in Nagaland on Thursday…..the party dedicates this win to the people of Nagaland,” he said in a statement here.
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said two of his Republican Party of India (RPI) candidates also won in Nagaland. His party contested the election on eight seats.
He said that both the MLAs would support the BJP-led NDPP alliance.
