Nagaland: Prohibitory order imposed in Peren village

Dimapur: Perin Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar on Monday imposed a curfew with immediate effect in Lamhai Namdi village and adjoining areas under Section 144 of CrPC till further orders, assembly of more than five persons and Prohibited the carrying of any deadly weapon and weapon.

This order has been issued in view of the current situation in the area, which may pose a threat to public peace and tranquility.
In the order, the DC as District Magistrate said that being fully satisfied with the grounds for taking precautionary measures, the prohibitory order was imposed to ensure maintenance of public peace and order.

The DC said security personnel on duty and medical emergency services are exempted from the purview of the order.In another order, the DC informed all passengers traveling via Molvom-Kiyevi-Mhainamtsi-Peren and Dimapur-Pimla-Peren routes to exercise caution while traveling till further notice.

The DC said that this notification has been issued in the interest of public safety and the prevailing law and order situation in Jaluki Sub-Division under the district and adjoining areas.Meanwhile, Dimapur Commissioner of Police Rothihu Tetseo has also issued a prohibitory order under Section 144 of the CrPC against gathering of more than five persons, deadly weapons and firearms including sticks, daggers, knives, sticks, The carrying of spears, catapults or other dangerous objects is prohibited.

The highway stretches along Vihutu Village-Khehoyi Village-Kiyevi Village area and along the Chumukidema-Perin border strip.The order is effective from Monday afternoon until further notice.

In an order, Tetseo said there had been a breach of law and order that could result in loss of human lives and property, including agricultural produce, along the Chumoukedima-Peren border area.
