Nagaland: Pressure from another committee to resolve Naga issue

Nagaland: Pressure from another committee to resolve the Naga issue. Naga civil society organizations, tribal organizations, public leaders, and Nagaland intellectuals on Tuesday decided to form an action committee to press for a solution to the Naga political issue.

The decision was taken at a meeting initiated and organized by the Nagaland Gaon Bora Federation (NGBF), a top organization of village chiefs in the state.
The meeting decided to put pressure on the Working Committee of the Center, NSCN (IM), and Naga National Political Groups to conclude the ongoing dialogue on the basis of the MoU reached with the Government of India on 31 October 2019.
The proposed body will be called the Nagaland People’s Action Committee, for which each of the state’s top tribal hoho (organizations) has been asked to nominate a representative to become a member.

He said the committee would consist of seven members, including social activist Theja Thierry Convener.
