Dimapur: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) will take out Bharat Jodo Yatra on November 19 to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Informing this at a press conference at Congress Bhawan, Dimapur on Tuesday, NPCC Joint Coordinator Rajesh Kumar Sethi said that the yatra will begin on November 19 at 7 am from DC Court Junction, Dimapur and in the evening. will end at Chumukedima Gate. A distance of about 20 km.
The Congress leaders will address the gathering during short breaks at the supermarket and at the fourth mile on the route and at the end point at Chumukedima.
Apart from NPCC leaders, AICC General Secretary in-charge of Nagaland Janjit Mukherjee will be present during the day-long yatra.
Sethi said the yatra, organized on the theme “Save Nagaland Save the Nation”, is against the BJP’s divisive policy and to show unity and love during the ongoing Bharat Jodu Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
He further said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is being conducted in different parts of the country not for political reasons but to end the discriminatory policy of the BJP.
NPCC secretary (org) and joint coordinator Akavi N Zhimomi said the yatra is needed to unite people from different walks of life at a time when the BJP is polarizing and dividing the country. .
He appealed to all sections to join the march to save Nagaland and the nation.
Asked whether the yatra would be held for just one day, Zemumi said it would be organized in different districts of the state thereafter.
