Guwahati: Nagaland: NSCN-IM says RSS is opposing flag of delay in final settlement. While there seems to be a clear delay in the final settlement or resolution of the Naga issue, the NSCN-IM said the delay is due to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its “manifesto of Hindutva”. Which is opposing the twin demands. A separate Naga flag and constitution.

The NSCN-IM says both these demands were addressed in the Framework Agreement (FA) signed with the Center in 2015 in the presence of PM Narendra Modi.
In a statement, the NSCN-IM said, “Ironically, this issue (flag and constitution) was settled long ago but the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) factor came in between the question that the two How can there be flags and two constitutions? The RSS/Hindutva Manifesto is in stark contrast to the principle agreement of the FA (Framework Agreement). This is where the real point of procrastination started.

He further said that “some people have misconstrued that the peace talks are being delayed due to the flag and constitution issues”.
“While this is not the case as the flag and constitution are included in the Framework Agreement (FA), the statement added.
