Nagaland: imagi.LAND redesigned kid’s park reopen in Kisama

KOHIMA: imagi.LAND, a revamped children’s park in the Naga heritage village of Kisama that hosts the famous Hornbill Festival, has reopened its doors to visitors since December 18 to keep the place fully operational. Ready to open.

The brainchild of Kohima-based event management company imagi.NATION, imagi.LAND, a space for dreams and innovation, was inaugurated last month and opened to the public during the Hornbill Festival.

Speaking at a press conference at imagi.LAND Kisama, company manager Elivino Seleyi said, “The space will reopen to the public on Sunday. The space has been designed with enough space to host events. We plans to keep the place fully functional throughout the year.

Launched in 2018, the company is managed by a three-member team. During the festival, the space saw children in the space, local artists, and people from all walks of life. Many entrepreneurs also visited this place to showcase their businesses. Seleyi said the company always has a heart for home businesses and will take every opportunity to engage with entrepreneurs.

“We looked at what we could offer to the Kisama Children’s Park, which had been lying barren for years due to lack of maintenance and security. We presented our proposal to the Department of Tourism, which was well received by their authorities. And appreciated them who further helped us complete all the necessary documents to start the project by writing the contract and other legal letters and documents before starting the construction work. On the site,” he said.

Aoakum Walling, production manager at imagi.NATION, said the team took 52 days to work on the project. As a new haven for relaxation and rejuvenation, Walling said the space will be open year-round.

Located about 12 km away from the busy roads of Kohima city, the new place can serve as a retreat for both children and adults. To make it a fully functional space, Walling said installation of several infrastructures such as tree houses, a swimming pool, etc. is underway.

In addition to a kid-friendly PlayStation, the space also has a cafeteria and a ‘3 Shelf Project’, which stores books for a free sharing experience where anyone can borrow, borrow or share books.

The ‘Love Lock’ wall, a place to put locks as a memorial to loved ones, is another interesting feature of the place.

In contrast to the display of traditions in Kisama, imagi.LAND, located beneath the heritage village, is covered in green, making it stand out for its contemporary design. While entry is free for children below 5 years of age, Rs 100 is charged for others.
