KOHIMA: The Nagaland govt has allegedly withdrawn over Rs 70 crore for the construction of a high court building in the state which is non-existent.
According to a TNIE report, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently questioned Nagaland Chief Minister Nephew Reo in connection with the case.
The site’s infrastructure is barely in place, but the Nagaland government has reportedly withdrawn Rs 44.24 crore for power and water supply to the project site as of 2018, as well as another Rs 22.42 crore for the construction of judges’ bungalows. For which the area was The TNIE report claims not to be specific.
The report added: “The money was withdrawn through 18 withdrawals by the Department of Justice and Law of Nagaland between March 2009 and March 2017.”
The ED reportedly questioned the Nagaland chief minister over the matter for several hours at a military base in Rangapahar, Dimapur.
