KOHIMA: Elections in Nagaland are just days away, and as the final countdown begins, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party leader Y Patton has called for the NDPP-BJP pre-poll. He reiterated to the Alliance that big parties will not invite trouble by fielding smaller parties.
The party’s star campaigner, while addressing a crowd during the campaign of 38-Wokha AC candidate Ronpenthung Ezung at Wozhuro under Wokha district, confidently shared that the NDPP-BJP will be able to achieve its 40:20 seat-sharing formula. Together will return to power.
He said if you want development then stay with the government and vote for BJP-NDPP as BJP and NDPP will get more than 40 seats and win comfortably.
In this regard, Peyton appealed to the public to support the party and its candidate for carrying out development activities in the Wozhuro range covering six villages.
He said that the range is a backward range in Wokha district and deserves a representative in the state assembly.
If the party is voted in this constituency, Peyton has assured to construct a helipad for the range besides building good roads for six villages.
He said that the delimitation will be started in 2026 and if the party comes to power, the elected representatives will work for the interest of these villages.
As widespread election-related violence is being witnessed in the state, Patton urged people to actively participate in the election process without violence.
Party candidate Renponthung Ezung, speaking with Media on the sidelines of the campaign, shared that if voted into power, road construction would be an immediate initiative.
He said that the range is the nerve of the party and is hopeful of winning the trust of the people.
Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson and Nagaland in-charge Nalin Kohli said the party is committed to work for peace and development.
He also avoided other national political parties to enter state politics only during elections.
