Dimapur: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Theri termed Ghulam Nabi Azad’s resignation from the Congress party as ‘wrong’.
In a release on Sunday, Thierry said it would not be good to dump Congress workers across the country, who were looking to his leadership to help them through this difficult time. “It’s painful,” he added.
The NPCC chief said Ghulam Nabi Azad’s has all the platforms to air what he feels for the party and the nation.
Explaining that he held what the media called the G-23, Thierry said things were moving towards reform as he suggested.
Theri said that Chantan Shivar in Udaipur considered almost all the issues in the party’s election process.
“If they were interested, they could have filed nominations for any post to serve the INC. They have nurtured the Congress party for more than 40 years,” Theri said.
He also felt that resigning at the age of over 70, after enjoying the benefits of the INC for over 40 years, might be too late for a rebirth.
According to Thierry, the nation needs change, especially to protect Muslims and Christians from being barred from voting.
