Ceasefire With NSCN(K): The ceasefire agreement with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (K) Niki group has been extended by the central government by one year.
In a statement, the Union Home Ministry said, “Ceasefire With NSCN(K) and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (K) Nikkei group is ongoing.
The NSCN-K first entered into a ceasefire on 8 September 2021 for a period of one year.
More than 200 cadres of the group joined the peace process.
The NSCN-K was formed in 1988 by SS Khaplang after a split from the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak Chishi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah faction.
The NSCN has several factions and the faction led by Nikki is one of the latest factions to come to a ceasefire.
