Nagaland: Catholic priests celebrate Christmas
Kohima: More than 100 pastors from across Nagaland celebrated Christmas and Pastor’s Day at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Kohima on Thursday.
Christmas Mass is a place of worship that is always celebrated in the Cathedral of Diocese under the presidency of the Bishop.
During the celebration, Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, Most Rev., commended the clergy for their commitment and dedication to advancing the church ministry.
The bishop also thanked the church faithful for their help and encouragement in keeping the pastors high.
As Priest’s Day is being celebrated, the principal of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, Fr Keduolhou George, said, “On this day, I remember being my priest as well as serving God. It is an annual memory for me. The promise is – my promise and my promise. ”
He also said that Pastor’s Day is a great opportunity for him to meet and receive pastors from across the state, including “shepherds” – bishops.
Johnny Ruangmei, president of the Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN), said that the pastor and the pastor is something that no one can fully understand or comprehend.
A total of 130 pastors from across the state gathered to celebrate Pastor’s Day. On this day, catechumen oil, Christmas and oil for the sick, is given to the pastors to take it back to the parish.
