Nagaland: At age of 46 Impur MLA Imtiwapang Aier passes away

KOHIMA: MLA of Impur Assembly Constituency under Mokokchung District, Dr Imtiwapang Aier passed away on Saturday morning.

In a condolence note, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the sudden demise of Nagaland Legislative Assembly MLA and former Speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier today on January 7, 2023.”
Aier was 46 years old. The former speaker of the state assembly contested the 2018 state election on an NPF party ticket. Last year, along with 20 other NPF MLAs, Aier merged with the Rio-led NDPP party.
According to the Chief Minister, Aier was a young, dynamic and talented public leader. “While working together over these last few years, I found him to be someone who was always passionate about his work and carried out his duties diligently. He was a sincere and hardworking person. His His academic record was also excellent, and he had a PhD in Geology. He was a humble gentleman with a cheerful and big heart, who cared deeply for the welfare of society. In fact, he was an inspiration to many young people,” Reeve said.
On behalf of the state government, Rio expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members.
