Prisoners Escape
Guwahati: At least nine inmates of Nagaland’s Moon District Jail have escaped from the jail, according to reports on Sunday.
According to reports, these inmates include undertrials and murder convicts, who somehow managed to escape by grabbing the keys to their cells on Saturday morning.
The police have launched a massive search operation to find the prisoners who escaped from the jail.
A case has been registered at Moon police station and further investigation is underway.
“Police have launched an extensive search operation, issued a lookout notice and alerted the concerned agencies,” he said.
The village councils of the inmates have also been asked to contact the police if they have any information about the jail escapees, an official said.
