The Nagaland government’s core committee on Naga political issues had nominated Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to facilitate the ongoing peace talks between the NSCN-IM and the Indian government.

NSCN-IM did not object to the proposal to include Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the talks as “it has been heard by both stakeholders and the Center”.
