Naga National Council will not attend two-day Naga Peoplehood

Kohima: General (retd) TM Keyho, President, Naga National Council (NNC) informed that Naga national workers under NNC/FGN will not be able to attend the two-day Naga gathering scheduled for February 17-18.
The NNC/FGN cannot clearly establish its objective, the President said in a letter to the Organizing Committee – Naga Shisha Hoho and Forum for Naga Reconciliation.
Also, the letter emphasized that the Naga National Council (NNC) is “the only Naga political body and the FGN is its legitimate Naga national government.” “So it can never be presented as a political group like any other political group that you are inviting to a meeting,” it added.
Further, the letter said that it could not be determined whether the meeting was “organized to unite our people to uphold the 1951 referendum and defend Naga sovereignty or the Constitution of India”. to unite our people to accept the solution under”. “I am sure you understand these facts and appreciate our position,” General (retd) Keyho added in the letter.
Naga Shisha Hoho (NSH) and Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) have convened the gathering under the theme of ‘Liberating the Naga Soul’ and Naga churches, Naga political groups, tribal organizations, Nagaland Gaon Bora Federation, Civil society organizations, student organizations, media and individuals.
