Agartala: More than 50 percent of eligible Baru families have been resettled in eight selected areas of Tripura under the Quadrilateral Resettlement Agreement.
However, the government is yet to receive a list of about 2,500 families from Bru leaders, said Principal Secretary Revenue Department Tripura Puneet Agarwal.
Briefing mediapersons at the Civil Secretariat, Agarwal said, “A total of 6,159 families comprising 37,136 people have been found eligible for resettlement here in the state as per the quadripartite agreement.”
“Accordingly, 12 locations have been identified to carry out the resettlement process and so far 3,232 families have already been resettled in eight of the 12 locations,” he said.
“We are waiting to receive area-wise resettlement data from Bru leaders to provide resettlement to 2,486 families,” he added.
“Related construction works like clearing forests, leveling lands, setting up sub-health centres, installation of solar panels etc. are going on in full swing.”
“The constituencies are spread across eight districts of the state,” Agarwal added.
