Meghalaya’s Education budget
Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has reiterated that his government is committed to improving the quality of education in the state.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has said that a substantial portion of the state budget is being spent on the education sector.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that more than 15 percent of the state’s budget is being spent on education.
“Education has been a sector where, as a government, we have focused a lot. It is one of the most challenging sectors. But we have accepted the challenge and are working to improve education through various interventions. working for – be it education policy, investment in government school buildings, opening of people’s colleges, or we provide various infrastructure support even to private schools and colleges,” Meghalaya.
The Chief Minister of Meghalaya said that out of Rs 16,000 crore of Meghalaya’s Education budget, Rs 2,500 crore is being spent as capital expenditure on various schools, colleges and other infrastructure every year.
