Modi to visit Dibrugarh on April 28, Assam Chief Minister reviews preparations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dibrugarh district on April 28 to inaugurate 7 out of 10 cancer hospitals in Assam and lay the foundation stone of seven more cancer hospitals from Dibrugarh.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday visited the Khanikar Police Reserve area to monitor the possibility of using the area as a venue for the event.
He inspected the area and asked the concerned officers to take all necessary steps to rectify all the shortcomings for the successful conduct of the Prime Minister’s public function.
Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli, Minister of Agriculture Atal Bora, Minister of Health and Family Welfare Keshab Mahanta and senior state government officials were present during the visit.
As part of her one-day visit to Dibrugarh on Sunday, Sarma also visited a cancer hospital being set up in Dibrugarh under the Cancer Care Foundation. He reviewed all the facilities at the hospital which the Prime Minister will dedicate to the public on April 28.
The Chief Minister also met DC Dibrugarh and other senior officials of the state government and asked them to take all necessary steps to make the visit of the Prime Minister a success.
Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Keshab Mahanta, Minister for Finance Ajanta Neog, Minister for Agriculture Atal Bora, Minister for Tea Welfare Sanjay Kisan and several members were present during the meeting.
