MLAs of BJP, NPP meet Rajnath Singh, demands withdrawl of SoO

A total of 23 legislators from the Bharatiya Janata Party and the National People’s Party (NPP) met Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on June 19 and apprised him of the situation on the ground in the violence-hit state of Manipur.

The MLA put some points before the Union Defense Minister to control the violence in the state of Manipur.
The lawmakers also demanded the Center to ensure a peaceful environment in the state by ending the ongoing violence and maintaining territorial integrity in the state at all costs.
The MLAs further demanded that strict action should be taken against rebel groups violating the state’s land laws. Moreover, the legislators also called for the withdrawal of SoOs and their return to their designated camps.
The MLA asked the Center to provide clarification on allegations leveled by some militant groups in the state against some central BJP leaders for extending support during the 2017 elections.

Additionally, 30 Manipur MLAs will meet Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman this evening.
