Aizawl: The Mizoram government on Monday decided to approach the Center on ongoing highway projects in the state to ensure that maximum work can be done during the working season, an official statement said. Is.
The statement said that Chief Minister Zormathanga called a meeting with the authorities to review the various national highway projects being executed by the centrally owned construction company, National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) across the state. .
It said that Minister for Land Revenue and Settlement Lalruatkima, Political Adviser to the Chief Minister C Lalramzauva and Adviser (Technical) to the Chief Minister Mr K Lalramzauva were also present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the working situation and problems faced by NHIDCL were reviewed.
He also reviewed the problems faced by the construction company in obtaining forest clearance for widening of National Highways- 306 and 6 (Vairengte to Sairang), NH 302, NH-6 between Lunglei-Tlabung in the southern part of the state. Daltey), Chitlong and Serechup bypass roads (both on NH-53), NH-102B (Kiefang – Tuwai) and Tuipang Road (NH-54), the statement said.
Negotiations with the Electricity and Electricity Department regarding utility shifting were also considered in the meeting.
The meeting agreed to approach the Center to ensure that such issues are resolved and maximum work done during the working season.

Recently, more than 1,700 private landowners staged an indefinite strike between NH-306 and NH-6 between Sairang Vairengte and Kawnpui villages and blocked incoming vehicles on NH-306 at Mizoram’s gateway Virangte village.
The landowners had demanded compensation for their lands damaged by the widening or four-laning of NH-306 and NH-6 from Vairengte-Kawnpui-Kawnpui.
NH-306 is the lifeline of Mizoram as most of the supply is through this national highway.
The indefinite strike, which began on November 3, was called off three days after leaders of the Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA), appointed by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, assured the landlords. That steps will be taken to ensure they get their compensation.
