Mizoram: Rasik Mohan Chakma removed through no-confidence motion
Aizawl: In another political shift in Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), the current Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Mizo National Front (MNF) Rasik Mohan Chakma in the first sitting of the budget session of the council. Removed by no-confidence motion. on Monday.
A statement issued by the CADC’s Information and Public Relations Department said the no-confidence motion was moved by MNF member Kali Kumar Tongchangya.
It said that the motion was moved immediately after the meeting started at 10:30 am and the chairman Buddha Leela Chakma adjourned the meeting till 1 pm.
It said the motion was debated and voted on in the second session of the session and Rask Mohan Chakma lost to 13 members who voted for the motion.
The statement said that six members including Rasik Mohan Chakma were absent from the meeting. The current council, formed in April 2018, has seen changes to the CEM at least four times so far.

Rask Mohan Chakma has held the post of CEM four times since 1999 and in the current period he has held the office of CEM twice. Veteran hoax politicians have been elected at least five times as members of the hoax council from Borapansury constituency since 1993.
