Guwahati: In a major operation of Siaha District against anti-national activities, the Lingli Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) recovered a large cache of tactical and war-like stores near Nyathlang village in Seha district and arrested.
This successful operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles and Seha Police based on specific information.
The team had specific information about the movement of Myanmar-based insurgents on four Kenbo bikes.
The team stopped and searched the bike at Newtlong Junction.
During the search, the party recovered a large number of tactical and war equipment from his possession.
Military-grade stores used by Myanmar-based insurgents for anti-national activities cannot be ruled out, official sources said.
A satellite phone, mobile phone, SIM cards, .22 bullets, an air gun and air gun pellets, three digital transceivers, a wireless transmitter receiver set, combat uniform, four bikes, antenna base, bullet proof jackets, and four bikes. . About 3,00,000 kyat (Myanmar currency) was also recovered.
The arrested persons and seized items were handed over to Seha Police Station on Wednesday for further investigation and legal action.
