Mizoram logs 33 fresh Coronavirus cases

Aizawl: 33 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Mizoram on Wednesday, eight more than the previous day, bringing the total number of states to 2,27,794, a health official said.

The official said the death toll from COVID-19 was 697 as there were no recent deaths in the last 24 hours.
The one-day positivity rate rose to 7.73 percent from 5.48 percent the previous day as 427 samples tested on Tuesday revealed fresh cases.

There are currently 200 active COVID-19 cases in Mizoram, while 2,26,897 people have recovered from the infection so far, including 34 on Tuesday.

The recovery rate from COVID-19 is now 99.60% and the mortality rate is 0.30%.

As of Tuesday, more than 8.51 million people had been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine, according to state immunization officer Lalmuanawma Jongte.
