Mizoram has beefed up security for President Murmu's visit

Aizawl: Security has been beefed up across Mizoram ahead of President Draupadi Murmu’s visit to the northeastern state, a senior police officer said.

Murmu is on a four-day tour of three northeastern states – Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim.
According to officials, she will reach Mizoram’s capital Aizawl on Thursday.

This is Murmu’s first visit to Mizoram after becoming president in July.

He had visited the state on July 7 during the presidential election campaign.

Aizawl District Superintendent of Police (SP) C Lalruvia said that security has been tightened in the state, especially in the state capital.

He said that all the police personnel in the state capital are engaged in security arrangements.
