Aizawl: Mizoram has bagged the reputable central award for its excellence in disaster management in the institutional category, official sources said on Saturday.
Langley Fire Station was one of the two recipients of the Subhash Chandra Bose Apda Prabandhan Puraskar, an annual award by the Center for the invaluable contribution made by individuals, offices, departments and organizations in the field of disaster management. and was established to recognize and honor selfless service. sources said.
The second recipient was the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA).
Mizoram Fire and Emergency Services Director C. Lalzahngoa and Superintendent of Police (SP) Fire and Emergency Francis Lalnuntluanga interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the third session of the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR-2023) held in New Delhi. The Langley Fire Station was awarded for its outstanding work and dedication during a massive forest fire on the outskirts of Lunglei town in the southern part of the state in April 2021.
