Mizoram: COVID-19 positivity rate reached 14.24%
A health department official said 50 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Mizoram on Friday, five less than the previous day, bringing the total to 2,27,899.
The death toll rose to 697 as no new deaths have been reported from the infection since May 3.
The official said that the daily positivity rate increased from 12% to 14.24% in the previous day as tests of 351 samples revealed fresh cases.
The northeastern state now has 219 active cases.
Forty people recovered from the disease on Thursday, bringing the total to 2,26,983, the official said.
The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients was 99.59%.
The Northeastern state has tested more than 19.26 million samples for Code-19.
As of Thursday, more than 8.53 million people had been vaccinated and 6.93 million of them had received both doses of the vaccine, according to state immunization officer Lalmuanawma Jungte.
At least 42,935 people received precautionary food.
