Mizoram Cong rename India to Bharat plan to build Hindutva nation

Aizawl: The Congress held a press conference on Wednesday, where party spokesperson Lallianchhunga expressed deep concern over alleged attempts by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to promote a Hindutva-based agenda.
He emphasized the need to save the nation and its diverse communities and said that the coming to power of the Congress was necessary to protect the interests of the people.
During the press conference, Lallianchhunga criticized the BJP-led government for introducing measures that he believed were aimed at building a Hindutva-based nation. He pointed out that the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was accepted by the Mizo National Front, was brought under the BJP’s watch.
Additionally, the spokesperson claimed that the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) was part of the BJP’s agenda to implement the “one nation, one law” policy, which he said would allow some religions to And minority communities may face marginalization.
Highlighting possible upcoming developments, Lallianchhunga suggested that efforts to change the name of India to “Bharat” may take place in a special session of Parliament on 18 September 2023.
They developed these legislative maneuvers as part of a broader strategy to build a Hindutva nation using legal means.
In response to these concerns, the Congress spokesperson promised that if the Congress party comes to power in the central and state governments, they will work to scrap the Uniform Civil Code and replace the Forests (Conservation) Amendment Act, 2023.
Lallianchhunga concludes by highlighting a troubling statistic, noting that since 2014, India has been ranked among the “10 most dangerous countries in the world for Christians to live in.”

He argued that the BJP’s policies have had a detrimental effect on India and particularly on Mizoram, which has a significant Christian population.
