Mizoram: BJP’s lone MLA, 12 other Chakma leaders convicted in corruption case

Aizawl: BJP’s MLA corruption  in Mizoram – BD Chakma and 12 other Chakma leaders have been convicted by a Special Judge (Prevention of Corruption Act) court in a corruption case.

B. D. Chakma is the sitting MLA from Tuichawng assembly constituency in Mizoram.

Apart from the BJP MLA corruption from Mizoram, the convicted include Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) Buddha Leela Chakma.
Others convicted by the court include two Executive Members (EM) of CADC, two current members of District Council (MDC) and 3 former CEMs of CADC.

The 13 Chakma leaders were found guilty under Section 13(1)(d) along with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
Convicted Chakma leaders in Mizoram will be sentenced on Monday.

Mizoram BJP MLA ABD Chakma has said that he will challenge the decision in Guwahati High Court.
