Mizoram Assembly Elections
AIZAWL: In Mizoram, the BJP is set to contest all 40 seats in next year’s Mizoram assembly elections.
This was reported by Mizoram BJP president Vin Lalhamuka.
Van Lalhamuka said that the BJP will contest from all 40 assembly seats in the 2023 elections.
Mizoram has 40 assembly constituencies in 11 districts.
In Mizoram, 39 out of 40 assembly seats are reserved for scheduled tribes and one general category.Notably, the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) supports the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
However, at least 16 MNF leaders have joined the BJP recently.
In the 2018 Mizoram Assembly elections, the MNF won 26 assembly seats.
Mizoram Congress could win only five seats.
On the other hand, BJP has won one assembly seat in Mizoram as well.
