Mizoram: Assam Rifles seizes foreign cigarettes worth Rs 2.47 crore

Aizawl: Acting on specific information, Assam Rifles troops and Customs Preventive Force personnel on Wednesday.

foreign cigarettes seized worth Rs 2.47 crore in Chamfai district near the Myanmar border, Assam Rifles sources said.

Sources said that 190 cases of foreign cigarettes were recovered during the joint operation in New Zotling village.
It said that the contraband worth Rs 2.47 crore was handed over to the Customs Department on the same day for further legal action.
