Silchar: A woman from Belonia area of ​​Tripura, who went missing on Sunday, was found hanging from a tree in Bangladesh on Monday. Aarti Rani Das body was handed over to her family by Bangladeshi authorities on Tuesday after due process of law.

Sources said that Aarti, who according to some locals had some mental disorder, went missing on Sunday from her hometown Ramthakur , Balonia in South Tripura district. His family lodged a missing person’s report at the Belonia police station.
On Monday, she was found hanging from a tree on the banks of the Muhuri River in Dublar Chen, under the Prashuram police station in Bangladesh’s Feni district.

Bangladeshi authorities handed over the body to his family at the Axis Ghat Border Customs Trade Center on Tuesday after an autopsy and other necessary legal procedures. Sources said that the area (Dublar Chen) where Aarti’s body was found is about 4 km away from her house.
S. Bardhan, officer-in-charge of Balonia police station, told reporters that Muhammad Saif-ul-Islam, officer-in-charge of Prashuram police station in Bangladesh, informed him of the body around 9 a.m. on Monday. According to Islamic information, Aarti was found hanging from a tree with her saree tied around her neck, Burdhan said.

Aarti’s family has expressed suspicion of indecency in the incident and demanded an investigation. However, a section of locals in Ramthakarpara, Balonia claimed that Aarti was mentally unstable and committed suicide.
Muhammad Saif-ul-Islam, officer-in-charge of Prashuram police station, told media that after the body was found, the police informed the Balonia police and sent the body to Feni Hospital for autopsy.
At around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, the body was handed over to her family in the presence of Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) personnel and Balonia female police personnel. Islam said an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances and cause of death.
