Minor niece sexually abused and raped by 60 years-old Uncle

Guwahati: A man has been accused of sexually assaulting and raping his 17-year-old niece in Assam’s Baksa.
According to reports, the accused has been identified as 60-year-old Lakshmikant Das, a resident of Simla, Baksa.
The minor is reportedly now pregnant.

It is alleged that the uncle had been sexually abusing and raped her for a long time and it was revealed when the family found out that she was pregnant.
The minor’s mother has filed an FIR against Das for allegedly sexually assaulting her.
A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO Act) and Das has been arrested from Badolipara in Baksa.
Further investigation is underway.
