Argentina star footballer Lionel Messi has cleared the air on his retirement plans.

Messi has confirmed that he will not retire from international football immediately.

It was earlier speculated that Lionel Messi could announce his retirement from international football after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“I will not retire. I want to continue playing as a world champion,” Messi told TyC Sports.

Messi expressed more joy over Argentina’s World Cup win.

“Look what it is, it’s beautiful, I wanted it so much. We suffered a lot, but we got it,” Messi said.

He added: “Obviously, I wanted to close my career with this (World Cup win), I can’t ask for anything more.”
“It almost came to me at the end. I love football, what I do. I enjoy being in the national team, in the group. I want to continue living for a few more games, becoming a world champion.” ‘ They said.

On 18 December, Argentina won the FIFA World Cup title for the third time in history.
