Shillong: After the Middle declared Meghalaya artist Risingbor Kurkalang as one of the Padma Shri awardees, he said the honor would rouse other customary instrument players like him.
Risingbor is one of the 91 individuals chose by the Home Service on the event of the 74th Republic Day this year.
He said thanks to the public authority for perceiving his commitment to music and making instruments.
“I’m exceptionally eager to realize that I have been chosen for the Padma Shri grant. It will support numerous performers and particularly self-trained music arrangers who, in spite of the low interest on the lookout, They are doing what they specialize in,” he said.
Praising Rishingbor, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said Meghalaya is pleased with him.
“I salute him on this extraordinary accomplishment! S.C. Risingbor has done honorable endeavors in promoting Khasi society music and is an expert specialist of conventional Khasi instruments like Duitara and Saitar,” he tweeted.
