Meghalaya: Woman tied to pole, heckled by onlookers in Jowai


Guwahati: A 23-year-elderly person was attached to a post at a commercial center in Meghalaya’s Jowai and bugged after she was purportedly found pickpocketing.

A video of the occurrence, which surfaced via virtual entertainment on Friday, showed the lady being taken to a shed by certain individuals, got clarification on some pressing issues and afterward being attached to a shaft in the midst of scoffing by spectators.

Kids, youngsters, and ladies present at the spot were seen ridiculing her.

Her wrap and her sack, which she was seen conveying to the shed, couldn’t be seen in the video when she was being attached to the post or thereafter.

Police authorities said they have sent off an examination concerning the occurrence and every one individuals found in the video will called for question.”

Meghalaya Police, which was followed alongside Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, said on Twitter, “Move has been initiated by @Jowai_Police in such manner.” Details were, nonetheless, not given.

Denouncing the occurrence, ladies’ freedoms extremist Agnes Kharshiing said, “We request quick capture of every one of those engaged with tormenting the lady.”
