Meghalaya woman allegedly drugged, raped in a Guwahati hotel

Guwahati: A woman was allegedly raped in a hotel in Guwahati. The accused allegedly belongs to neighboring Meghalaya, the victim informed the police on Saturday.
According to available information, the victim was allegedly invited by the accused to a hotel in Guwahati to attend a birthday party.
After that, she was intoxicated, confined to a room inside the lodge, and sexually assaulted, the complaint added.
The incident took place at Rajdhani hotel in Guwahati. The victim told the police that she was drugged and then the accused raped her against her will.
The accused has been identified as Parvez Ansari, a resident of Meghalaya, who allegedly studied in the same educational institution as the victim, which is how they both know each other.
After this incident, the victim filed a complaint at the women police station of Panbazar police station in Guwahati. A case has been registered, and police are currently investigating the matter.
