Students union accuses NEHU of tampering with admission list
Tura: The Garo Students’ Union, Central Executive Committee, in Tura, has alleged irregularities in the selection of candidates for admission to the law department by NEHU and appealed to the Pro-Vice Chancellor to look into the matter on Tuesday.
In its memorandum to the PVC, the union claimed that the law department had announced the names of successful candidates selected for merit-based admission under various categories on October 25, but suddenly changed the list within two hours of the announcement.
Assistant General Secretary Salman D. Sangma claimed that “the department has tampered with the list to exclude economically disadvantaged students to give a chance to other students in the waiting list.”
The Union requested the concerned authority to review the list of successful candidates for admission.
