Meghalaya: South Garo Hills Police nab two drug peddlers
Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills District Police on Monday arrested two drug dealers with 98 bottles of illicit Phensedyl cough syrup and a total of 1,125 yaba tablets, intended to be transported to Bangladesh.
Based on credible sources, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) was informed that at around 11 am, some drug dealers were going to deliver drugs to an unknown person in Malikona area of Baghmara .
According to him, ANTF personnel nabbed the suspected drug dealer Merazul Haq. After a thorough interrogation in Malikona, the team managed to locate the drug from the residence of another drug dealer (identified as Babu Das).
From Das’s home, the team seized a bag containing 98 bottles of the banned Phensedyl cough syrup. Osha Das, a colleague at the residence, escorted the team to another location behind the house, which he had thrown behind the house.
Inside the polythene, police found 1,125 yaba / methamphetamine tablets weighing 109 grams.
