Meghalaya records 19 new COVID-19 cases
A senior health official said 19 new cases were recorded in Meghalaya on Wednesday, a drop from the previous day, bringing the number to 93,516.
Dr Aman War, director of health services, said the death toll from Cove 19 had risen to 1,580 as two more people became infected.
Jang said there are now 158 active COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya, while 91,778 people have recovered from the disease.
Of the 19 new cases, eight were reported from the East Khasi Hills District, six from Ri Bhoi and one each from East Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills Districts, respectively.
He said that the state has so far tested more than 13.61 lakh samples of COVID-19.
A total of 23.55 lakh people have been vaccinated in the state, Jang said.
